My Philosophy
I care deeply about empowering families with the knowledge and tools to help children stay healthy.
My five-step M.E.N.D.S. framework is designed to address key foundations of your child’s health. The focus is on improving health and well-being, not only treating disease.
M.E.N.D.S. stands for:
Movement
Environment
Nurture
Diet
Sleep
Many of the cases I see in clinic involve health concerns influenced by lifestyle factors. Small changes in behaviour, routines and mindset can have a meaningful impact over time. In many situations, healthier routines and environments can support the body’s natural ability to recover, regulate and function well.
Dr Monica Gupta MBChB FRCPCH
I am passionate about my work as a paediatrician and find great purpose in supporting children and their families. Over time, I recognised the need for more flexible, frequent and individualised care than traditional appointments can provide.
You may be feeling unsure whether your child’s sleep, eating habits, screen use, mood, energy or behaviour are normal. My role is to help you understand the bigger picture and give you practical, evidence-informed steps you can start using at home.
I value the importance of getting to know my patients and their families properly. A consistent doctor-patient relationship can play an important role in supporting trust, understanding and long-term well-being. Where appropriate, I also draw on Eastern philosophy and the benefits of yoga and breath work as part of a broader, whole-child approach.
These gaps in conventional care inspired me to develop Holistic Paediatric Health: a specialised range of services designed to better meet the needs of children, young people and their families.
My medical training has been varied and broad, across major hospitals in London, Kent and Sussex, including Great Ormond Street, King’s College Hospital and Chelsea and Westminster NHS Trust. I have also trained internationally in India and Hong Kong.
Why Invest in Your Child’s Health?
The environment our children are growing up in is becoming increasingly challenging. Ultra-processed foods, social media messaging, reduced movement, sleep disruption and environmental pressures can all affect a child’s physical and emotional well-being.
Investing in your child’s health early, particularly from birth to age 8, can help establish positive behaviours that support lifelong well-being. The crucial first 1,000 days are a period of rapid growth and development, but it is never too late to make positive changes.
Rapid societal and environmental changes can affect how children eat, sleep, move, connect and regulate their emotions. The human body can struggle to keep up with the pace of modern change. This makes prevention and early intervention more important than ever.
By supporting healthier habits in childhood, families can help build stronger foundations for long-term health, resilience and well-being.
Let Us Work Together
My aim is to offer families practical, medically grounded support that focuses not only on treating illness, but also on prevention, early intervention and long-term well-being.
Together, we can create a calm, personalised plan that supports your child’s health and fits realistically into family life.
My Approach: How It Works
We are advised to see a dentist every six months to focus on prevention. Why not take the same preventive approach to our mental and physical health?
Step 1: Free 10-minute introductory call
This helps me understand your child’s needs and guide you towards the most appropriate next step. After onboarding, I can arrange a face-to-face consultation or a home visit if beneficial, within certain South West London postcodes and where travel time allows.
Step 2: Initial consultation
A full review of your child’s health, lifestyle and family context. We start by discussing aims, goals and mindset. I also consider your child’s or young person’s physical environment, including where they eat, sleep and play.
Together, we look at current health issues, routines, habits, community life and family priorities.
Step 3: Personalised plan
You will receive clear, practical recommendations tailored to your child and developed in collaboration with you, using the M.E.N.D.S. framework.
Step 4: Ongoing support
You can book individual consultations or a block of sessions for continued support. This can help you make changes gradually and keep them going.
For families who would benefit from regular access and support, HPH membership may be a more economical option. Membership gives you direct access to friendly, professional advice for the duration of your membership.
Membership can be as brief as four weeks or continue for as long as you need support.
Pricing for the number of sessions required can be discussed during the discovery call.
Initial consultation: 60 minutes
Follow-up consultations: 30 or 45 minutes, as agreed after the initial consultation
Weekly membership: £50 per week, with a minimum four-week commitment. The initial four-week membership payment is £200.
Limited pro bono coaching consultations are offered in compelling situations and cases of severe financial difficulty.
